HACCC vs Lloyds

Sunny conditions at the HAC.
Mid week game and 30 overs decided.
HAC loose the toss and were put into bat.

13:45 start.

The HAC resplendent in their new gears and with the sun shining at the Artillery gardens were looking and feeling confident.

Rez and Steve opened the batting. Rez unlucky to be caught at deep fine pulling a long hop. Stave and Dan Continued with a really nice 50 partnership. Dan falling for 35 as he was just getting going. Sean continued and tried to get the run rate up, unlucky to be bowled going for his shots. Steve in the mean time, continued to bat very well and with a huge six brought up a fine ton. HAC a respectable 181 in their 30 overs. The Lloyds attack being all fairly decent but nothing really potent. Probably 20 / 30 runs short - with a fairly short boundary on one side.

At tea and with the run rate at 6’s, we felt like we had a good chance.

The HAC got off to a good start with Nish and Ashik bowing well in tandem. Ask, bowling a containing line and Nish picking up an early wickets. However, the Lloyds batting was much stronger than their bowling and they continued to accelerate throughout. Sean bowled a lot better than his figures suggested and with Rez picking up two wickets in the middle, we though we had a slight chance. However, it was difficult to create pressure, with no other real bowing options.. Lloyds in the end winning by five wickets and with 3.4 overs to spare.

Good match to start the season and dust off the cobwebs.
