10 man HAC beat Authors on a scorching day at home. Casey won the Toss and elected to bat. HAC had an early collapse with our top batters falling cheaply.
Mr President put on great fighting knock with a match saving 42 and top scoring in the game. Huxtable Snr and David Lane partnership was the backbone of our innings.
Lower middle order collapsed again with Tom Morgan admirably walking after his faintest of edges. HAC's senior stalwarts Neil - Evergreen and Arvind Dewan combined and added valuable runs in this low scoring affair. HAC all out for 138 on batting friendly track!
Arvind had a day to remember with a great all round performance. He was simply sublime with the ball, bowling with guile and control throughout his long spell of 16 overs on the trot. His bowling inspired HAC to defend a lowly 138 on a road of track at home.
The whole team went up a notch with the fielding effort - notably Henry Faj's commitment on the field adding to the pressure on Authors. Tom Morgan did a tidy job keeping wickets combined well Casey and Tom Major for the two clinical run outs. Special mention for Huxtable Jnr (Young George) on his brilliant fielding display, with an arm better than most of the team! - Thank you George!
For his man of the match performance with figures of (15.5- 4- 43- 4), the match ball was presented to Arvind in front of a gathering of cheering family friends and Authors by our First Team Captain - Liam Casey.
