Royal Artillery won the toss and decided to bat.
Conditions: Overcast with sunny spells
Royal Artillery got off to a great start. With only 10 men the HAC managed ok - with T Caviet and S Parry bowling well in tandem
Slightly better catching, fielding and of course that extra man would have reduced the visitors.
Declaring on 256 after 50 overs.
L Bax got us off to a decent start. Then Parry arrived at the crease and scored a very nice 70 runs. Ably accompanied by T McKibben who scored 54.
Our chase faltered slightly, after a small collapse, and it was left to T Caviet to try and push us over the line. Ultimately, the wickets ran out and we where 30 short in the end, with only an over remaining.
We could have easily drawn this game and should have won it. With 11 men - you'd be reading about a famous victory.
Also, umpires... There where no umpires for this game which also had adverse effect on the result. We need to sort this problem out for next season.
