Match report - Castle Hill 2017

Castle Hill weathered the HAC opening attack of C Edwards and Agnew with their top order eventually posting decent scores with 2 half centuries and a 40. Despite Heranjal ditching the keeping gloves and picking up 3 wickets the opposition were able to pull themselves up to 198 on a tricky wicket.

Opening bowler Menary made swift inroads into the HAC top order with 4-44, despite solid resistance from debutant Luke Stoner-Lewis (26). A couple more cheap wickets for the slow bowlers had us worried, before Heranjal (62 not out) and Mendis put on a late charge, but we still finished some way short securing a draw in the opening fixture of the season.
