Longton and Gee snared a wicket apiece in a hostile opening spell before Joy's heroics ripped out the middle order. One over contained 3 wickets including 2 consecutive stumpings from the quick-witted Hibbs. Despite 42 from their Captain the students never recovered and posted 86.
The opposition fared somewhat better with ball in hand and made the going hard with the home team only keeping up with the required rate by the 10 over stage with Haines and Baldwin both scratching out 14. Then it was Joy again who broke the deadlock middling the ball forcefully into the legside to bring the home 11 to victory with 3.4 overs to spare.
