Dominant performance from the bowlers left a small target that was dispatched for just 2 wickets.
Classic opening bowling from Tim "Awesome" Lawson (7-2-22-3) ably supported by Ortis Charles put the Art's Club on the back foot. The pressure was further tightened by sometime Art's Club players Henry Longton (8-1-41-2) and Simon Qadri leaving the opposition reeling at 50-7. Then opposition captain Gary McConnell rallied his troops somewhat with a 62 not out as they posted 158.
The reply was simplicity itself. Bax made a fine 47 upfront (jug avaoidance noted). Horwood supported him with 27 before having to retire with a back strain. Jones (39 n.o.) and Parry (44 n.o.) ensured that we were able to make it home with 4 overs left in the match and plenty of time for an after match drink at the top of the hill at the end of hot summer's day.
Many thanks to Bruce Parry for his umpiring stint.
